OUR STORY
ESTABLISHED IN 1997
From our Far Eastern home, here in Hong Kong. We have over 20 years experience in sourcing and producing bespoke packaging in China for premium drinks clients around the world. But our story can be traced back to the early 1900’s and the families of our founders Andrew and Anita.
Andrew’s grandfather established the Abercorn Shirt Factory in Derry, Northern Ireland, which at the time was the centre of shirt manufacturing in the UK. Around the same time, Anita’s family, the Gidumals, established their business in China, later moving to Kwun Tong, Hong Kong where Anita’s father launched his cotton weaving business.
Having lived all over the world, and with trade and manufacturing very much in his blood, Andrew moved to Hong Kong in 1993 and soon after, launched the Abercorn Trading Co Ltd. He sourced products from the growing manufacturing base of Southern China and began to establish strong relationships with factory owners. Over the years, these relationships and the factories have grown alongside the Abercorn you see today. As China developed to become the most dynamic production centre for the rest of the world, Abercorn developed to become experts in the manufacture and supply of quality bespoke packaging for the drinks industry. Our close working partnerships with factories in China enables our uniquely creative approach to offering innovative manufacturing solutions to you.
