Description

In February 1904, the Hong Kong New Territories Missionary Society was formally established under the impetus of the London Missionary Society Pastor Pi Yaoshi and Pastor Willis. In the following ten years, after borrowing vacant churches managed by the Southern Baptist Church, renting buildings, and borrowing the Guangtongfa Shipyard of the faithful as meeting places, it was not until 1915 that a building on Daxin Street was leased to open a Christian forum. Last new mileage. In 1933, the church was taken over by the Sixth District Council of the Guangdong Association of the Church of Christ in China. In the winter of 1941, the church site was donated by the church member Mr. Huang Matai, and the Church of Christ in China Chang Chau Church, which was donated by the conference and various parties, was completed. The church has been self-supporting since 1956. Afterwards, due to the destruction of the church, it was already unbearable for repairs, so funds were raised to expand the church, and a dedication ceremony was held in May 1970.

The kindergarten expanded its new school building in 1990 and opened a kindergarten in 2005. In 1978, Chang Chau Girls’ School was taken over and renamed Jin Jiang Primary School. In 2003, the new school building of the primary school was completed and it was renamed Chang Chau Tong Jin Jiang Primary School.

In recent years, there are about 80 believers who have been steadily attending worship in this church. The ministry centers promoted include rooting in the bible, prayer and spirituality, caring for neighbors, and a church school.
