Country Holidays began in 1993 when Chang Theng Hwee and his wife Siew Yim noticed a trend among travel agents in Singapore catering mainly to mass tourism concentrating on shopping and food. Country Holidays was thus set up to provide exclusive, high quality cultural and adventure trips off-the-beaten destinations and serving the needs of more discerning travelers.
Since its beginnings, Country Holidays has been organizing mainly trekking trips in the Himalayas and has expanded to cover more remote and exotic corners of the world. In 1995, it was the first to launch the Antarctic Voyages in Singapore. Constantly innovating and introducing new destinations, today its areas of specialization are cultural and nature tours covering worldwide destinations in all 7 continents.
